We have a new cow inside the exhibition! Our old cow was teaching our visitors about the agricultural cooperative societies and the forced collectivization in the German Democratic Republic for years. Everyone was allowed, to touch and open the cow...with what kind of cow can you do this?! Our old cow never complained about that! Nevertheless, it was the time to retire it. A new and modern cow replaced it and is now waiting for the curious hands and eyes of our visitors.

History never is one-sided, but complex. Many occurrences are mutuallydependend, cohere with each other or have unexpected effects at the second glance. In the year of the 20th jubilee of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the focus in the media lies on our own remembrance; the German history.

A special highlight of the last few days was the visit of a unit of the German armed forces. The group comes from the Dahme-Spree-Barracks and they do not only wanted to visit the DDR Museum. Before they got their guided tour, which was planned within the framework of a political educational trip, they donated a tapestry, which is in a very good condition.

I like the exhibition very much, because it is so entertaining and interactive. In each corner, you can do something: Sit down in a Trabi, open a closet or trying on some cloth.

The GDR-Game was published in 2007 and since then, the DDR Museum sold thousands of it. Most people play it with their family to learn something about the GDR, but it is also a very nice game for your next birthday party.
