The probably most significant event, which is still considered a distinctive stepstone on the way to the German Reunification, was the publication of the loosened exit determinations for East-Germans on the evening of November 9th in 1989 by the recently deceased former SED functionary Günter Schabowski. Because of the diversity of our team, which consists of colleagues from all parts of Germany as well as of different age groups and educational backgrounds, we were able to collect numerous interesting as well as different opinions. Dear guests of the DDR Museum, my name is Valerie Holbein, I'm the new apprentice of the DDR Museum. I make an apprenticeship as a Tourism and leisure agent and I'm jointly responsible for the Visitor Relations. I deal with inquiries for guided tours and reservations, answer questions of our guests and I take care that our guests have a successful visit in our museum.

The new trainee, Ms Wrusch will support my colleague Ms Henschel in the Visitor Relations Department. As a future "Kauffrau für Freizeit und Tourismus" (Tourism and Leisure Agent), she will get to know all of our Departments during the next years.
