The collection department of the DDR Museum now owns a modern set for photographing big objects.

Numerous diverse objects

The collection of the DDR Museum consists of many diverse objects. They differ in topic, material as well as in size. In order to register and document all these different things within our database, it is necessary to take a picture of each and every object.

Until recently, the collection department merely owned a photo set for small or medium-sized objects. With the new installation it is now possible to take photos of bigger things such as furniture, flags or even vehicles. It consist of a white background which is held by a robust frame construction as well as two big spotlights. This is necessary to fulfill the standards of object documentation within our database as well as enabling us to use the pictures for publications, big prints or for social media purposes.

Of course, such an installation alone is no guarantee for high quality photographs. A high-end camera, a good program for picture editing as well as educated staff are all important requirements for high-quality pictures.

Where can you find the photographs?
