A life for aviation

A four-engine passenger aircraft of the Soviet type IL-62 stands in a meadow in Havelland amidst the wooded idyll. It bears the insignia of the GDR airline Interflug. Bringing the aircraft from Schönefeld to the landing site at Stölln was a unique aeronautical achievement by the captain, Heinz-Dieter Kallbach. The surviving video of the breakneck landing on the grass runway still leaves viewers breathless today. This and other adventures will be recited in a staged reading.
