The Stasi's perfidious methods of expropriating private collections and moving them to the West have not gone unnoticed by the public, especially since many Western art lovers profited from them. But when journalist Margit Miosga set out to explore these practices in detail, toy collectors came into focus for the first time. So she thought to herself, »Oh, the toy collectors too?« In the report she published under that title, she traces individual collectors' fates. Experts also explain the systematic nature of the expropriations, which often took the form of exaggerated tax demands. Other collectors report on tricky strategies to keep their treasures out of the hands of the Stasi.
