Security Concept of the DDR Museum

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, an individual security concept has been developed that includes both special and general hygiene and distance regulations.

Here we give you an overview of the most important measures so that you can enjoy a pleasant visit to the DDR Museum even in this special situation.

What are the museum's opening hours and where can I get my ticket?

The DDR Museum is open as usual, daily between 9 am and 9 pm. This way, visitors can avoid potential rush hours. At the same time, the maximum number of people in the exhibition will be greatly reduced.

Tickets can be purchased here in advance or on site.

Do I have to show a negative Corona test, my vaccination card or a medical certificate?

No, currently there is no proof requirement for individual visits. Persons taking part in a guided tour must comply with the 3G rules (negative Corona test (not older than 24 hours), negative PCR test (not older than 48 hours), proof of recovery or vaccination). School classes from Germany and abroad are exempt from this.

Please note that visitors who have had contact with someone suffering from the SARS CoV 2 coronavirus in the last 14 days or who are suffering from an upper respiratory tract infection themselves are unfortunately not allowed to enter the museum.

Which kind of mouth-nose protection do I have to wear and what should I bear in mind when visiting?

Wearing a medical mask is compulsory for all visitors during their visit to the DDR Museum.

A safety distance of at least 1.5 metres must be maintained both inside the exhibition and in a potential queue and in the museum shop.

In addition to the obligatory hand disinfection in the entrance area, further disinfectant dispensers are set up in the exhibition. The toilets are located in the second part of the exhibition. Furthermore, free disposable gloves are provided so that the many installations and objects can be used and touched.

Cleaning staff are on site throughout the opening hours to refill the soap and disinfectant dispensers and to clean and disinfect the exhibition, the museum shop and the sanitary facilities.
