We are delighted to inform you that the DDR Museum opened again on May 4, 2020. To prevent the spread of Covid-19, an individual safety concept was developed that includes both special and general hygiene and distance regulations.
Here you find an overview of the most important measures so that you can enjoy a pleasant visit to the DDR Museum even in this special situation.
As usual, the DDR Museum will be open daily between 9 am and 9 pm. In this way, visitors can avoid potential peak times. At the same time, the maximum number of people in the exhibition is limited.
Yes, entrance tickets to the DDR Museum are available on site. We kindly ask you to pay with a debit or credit card, if possible contactless. We recommend purchasing an online ticket, which you can get here, in advance.
Please note that every guest, whether already in possession of a ticket or not, is asked to queue. This also applies to owners of online and skip-the-line tickets. This is the only way we can ensure that all visitors are informed about the applicable security measures and that questions are answered by the employees and signs.
Furthermore, hand disinfection is mandatory for everyone before entering the exhibition.
Wearing a mouth-nose protection is mandatory for every visitor. Holders of an admission ticket to the DDR Museum can purchase one both at the ticket counter and in the museum shop.
Furthermore, the safety distance of at least 1.5 meters applies both within the exhibition as well as in a potential queue and in the museum shop. Outside and in front of the ticket counter of the museum, this is identified by markings.
In addition to the mandatory hand disinfection in the entrance area, further disinfectant dispensers are set up in the exhibition. The toilets are in the second part of the exhibition.
During the entire opening hours, cleaning staff are on site to continuously replenish the soap and disinfectant dispensers and to clean and disinfect the exhibition, the museum shop and the sanitary facilities.
