Accessibility

The permanent exhibition is accessible without barriers from the main entrance of the DDR Museum. The museum is particularly busy during the school holidays. If you are planning a visit to the DDR Museum with fewer visitors, we recommend a visit after 5 pm.  A barrier-free WC is of course available.

The Spreepromenade has not been made barrier-free by the state of Berlin. This means that our museum can only be reached via stairs or a very steep ramp.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs registered in the severely disabled pass are welcome in the DDR Museum. Please present proof of this at the ticket desk when entering. Apart from these exceptions, it is not permitted to bring animals into the DDR Museum, which is why it is not possible to bring dogs without proof.
