Unfortunately, the local authorities have not made the Spree promenade accessible to the disabled; it is accessible only via a staircase or a very steep ramp. Wheelchairs can enter the exhibition via a side entrance and we would be happy to provide assistance. We would request disabled visitors to contact us at +49 30 847 123 7-31 before their visit so that we can make any necessary arrangements.
The majority of the permanent exhibition allows barrier-free access. Only the Trabant driving simulation is accessed by a flight of stairs. The exhibition has a number of tight corners and is often rather full, especially during the school holiday period. Should you wish to plan a visit to the museum when it is less full, we recommend that you come after 5 pm. An accessible WC is available.
Service and guide dogs are welcome at the DDR Museum. Please present verification at the ticket desk.
