The DDR Museum will be closed from now probably until April 19, 2020 due to the decisions of the Berlin Senate on March 14.
The gradual restrictions in public life are now increasingly affecting the cultural and tourism sector. In order to counteract the increasing number of people affected by COVID-19, also known as the corona virus, around the world, public and private attractions have decided to temporarily close in view of the recommendations of legislators and experts. The DDR Museum as one of the most popular and most visited museums in the city hopes that the situation will soon ease as a result of the measures taken.
The closure of the DDR Museum will be used to develop even more detailed and intensive measures and emergency plans for potentially similar situations in the future. We are all now in a situation that has been unique in the recent past but might happen again in the future.
