Bogensee – Lecture & Discussion
North of Berlin, in the middle of the forest, on the shore of Bogensee, is the structurally imposing site of the former FDJ Youth College. Until 1989, future functionaries of the GDR youth organization were trained here. In addition, young people from all over the world have been studying at Bogensee in international courses since the end of the 1950s. In the meantime, the building complex has been empty for 20 years. All previous attempts to put the area near Wandlitz to a new use have failed. The lecture will shed light on the history of the "FDJ-Kaderschmiede" and possible perspectives of the architectural ensemble.
