The Long Night of Museums 2025 is dedicated to the topic of love and sheds light on how it was lived in the GDR. The DEFA youth film »Sieben Sommersprossen«, which captivated more than 1.2 million visitors in 1978, takes centre stage. It is the story of Karoline and Robert, who experience their first love at a holiday camp. The Ovosiston pill, which was first produced in the GDR 60 years ago, plays an important role in the film. Three short tours invite visitors to take a walk through the DDR Museum and show the facets of love in socialist society – from brotherly kisses to love of one's homeland to the first time. The Eisbären Berlin will also be visiting with an exhibition truck: two discussion rounds will be dedicated to fan love from its roots in the GDR to the present day.
