Lange Nacht der Museen 2026

Tracing Clues Between the People's Police and Youth Drama

For the Long Night of Museums 2026, the DDR Museum presents a varied programme of interactive activities, short guided talks and a film screening centred on the theme of crime in the GDR. The focus is on police work as well as both spectacular and everyday criminal cases. Interactive activities, including a photo point and the quiz »Crime in Focus: The People's Police and Local Police Officer Investigate«, offer insights into criminal investigations. Short guided talks explore topics such as banned literature and Western jeans, and their significance in everyday life in the GDR. The evening concludes with a screening of the DEFA film »Questioning the Witnesses« (1987).
