I would like to show you some pictures of our new Volvo! It was a state carriage in the GDR and was restored during the last months. It will be an exhibit in our new exhibition and like the Trabi, the visitors are allowed to touch it and to get in.

A new wall is build, another one is torn down. A visitor would see a lot of building site rubble and stones and to walk around could be dangerous. Nevertheless, I took some pictures for you, to keep you up to date.

Four years after the opening, I can spread happy news! The DDR Museum enlarges its exhibition. The whole team is very excited about that and we are already working on the concept. The construction work starts in the next few days and should be finished in September.

2009 is gone, but it was a very good year for the museum. 398.592 people from all over the world had a hands-on experience of history during their visit of the DDR Museum.

Yesterday's evening was characterized bay the famous and popular Sandmann. Dr. Volker Petzold. Author of the book „The big East-West Sandman encyclopedia" (German edition), abducted the audience into the world of the "phenomenon sandman" and he described the background and history of this "interesting, media-historical character".

I like the exhibition very much, because it is so entertaining and interactive. In each corner, you can do something: Sit down in a Trabi, open a closet or trying on some cloth.
