In less than four weeks it is the 23rd anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Not much time is left for everyone who is planning a special campaign or event in remembrance of the peaceful revolution and the happenings of 1989, the crunch mode of the preparation has begun so to say.
The DDR Museum supports and takes part in an extraordinary art campaign this year. The project office "Farbwerte" and "Sonice Development", a group of artists and inventors, will print the history-charged statement "We are the people" on a Wall in Berlin on the 9th November 2012.
Print?! Yes, you have read correctly. A distance drafting machine, the Facadeprinter, makes this campaign possible. It was developed by "Sonice Development" and allows for printing colourful motives on walls from the distance.
To make this campaign a success, it only takes one more thing: Our and your support. The key to success are the paint balls which are required for this initiative. We have bought a whole chunk of the balls already, everyone can take part though! One paint ball costs 1 €, the smallest amount is 5 € and therefore 5 balls. The campaign can only be realised if enough paint balls are sold! Every donor will be mentioned during the event on the 9th November as a thank you.
You can find more information on the project office „Farbwelten" und its different initiatives on the website farbwerte.com.
For those, who cannot quite imagine how this campaign will be and want to get an impression beforehand, find detailed information on the Facadeprinter and a video of a printing process on www.facadeprinter.org.
Of course, we will comment on the event and you can also get information on the campaign on Facebook or Twitter steadily!
