Last Friday I was invited to the premiere of the play "Haunting under the Ferris Wheel", which we are sponsoring this year. Venue is the Spreepark Plänterwald, which lies waste these days and is no longer used as an amusement park. Nevertheless, there are still old rides, houses and figures that are slowly reclaimed by nature.

Normally it is not allowed to enter the closed site. The only exceptions are guided tours or special events such as "Spuk unterm Riesenrad". The play is generally based on a children's DDR series and was shot in Spreepark Plänterwald. And since the big Ferris wheel still stands (and even turns in the wind), this is the perfect place to perform the play.

The seating area is roofed and I was fortunate to be able to choose a place for me. I wanted to make a lot of photos and so I chose a seat in the front row.

At 7:30pm, the director and the producers took the stage and introduced some special guests and sponsors. The play started and everybody could see the passion that was in the staging.

Regardless of whether you know the GDR children's series or not, you can experience an "enchanted adventure" in which the backdrop of Spreepark is used optimally. It was great, that the staging was interesting for children and adults, which is due to the current humorous allusions and puns. All figures are interesting, some speak German with a Berlin accent and all of them become dear to your heart. And I looked about: Great children's eyes, spellbound faces and enjoyed heckling have shown that also the small guests liked the play.

That you can get an idea we are giving away two free tickets for 16th of June, by 15 clock! To win you need to answer one question:

With what "vehicle" do the three characters flee?

Please send your answer to pr@ddr-museum.de. We are giving away two tickets on coming Thursday, 3pm.
