Even the first test was successful. My "Big Plan" is sold in the station bookstore on Alexanderplatz. Brightly colored and sealed properly. It is the third book of a GDR trilogy, which you can buy individually or as a set. Since 20years, the writing of these books has kept me in suspense. Soon after 1989, the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (Federal Agency for Civic Education) asked me to write a book about the German Democratic Republic. In 1998, the Ch. Links Verlag published the book also and "Die heile Welt der Diktatur" became a long seller. For some people, the book was a nuisance, others said, that no one wrote about the GDR so lively before. In 2011, "Aufbruch nach Utopia" was published, it was about the 1960s and know, you can find "Der große Plan" in bookstores. In my last book, I describe the cultural history of the GDR in the 1950s. And now, I see the book in the station bookstore. I place my book a littlebit more beneficial and try to resist the wish to ask the saleswoman for the very important work bout GDR history. Of course, this kind of care is totally silly. The book and its two predecessors must make their way alone now, as children who step out into the world one day. Nobody knows their weaknesses better than I do, but I am not worried. The kids like the books will go their way. From now on, it is their affair.
