The sun is shining, spring has begun in Berlin - the perfect time to visit the GDR restaurant Domklause and sit on the terrace at the river Spree.
Recently, the weather has been quite bad - as a result of the bad weather, the asparagus season has been delayed by about three weeks. However, this is finally over! The sun has come out, the asparagus is ready to be eaten and as a member of the DDR Museum I am especially glad to be able to eat asparagus for lunch every day. Thanks to the chefs of the Domklause, this will not become boring because they always come up with something nice. Last year, my favourite was a classic: Schnitzel (escalope) with asparagus and homemade hollandaise sauce. Well, sometimes "just like at Mum's" is an unbeatable argument.
From this week on, there will be asparagus dishes on the menu of the day daily. Earlier today, I chose my favourite from following dishes:
Asparagus cream soup 5,90 €
Medaillons of pork fillet with fried asparagus and homemade lemon butter 14,90 €
Fried fish with asparagus salad 11,20 €
