Saturday August 25 it is time again for the Long Night of the Museums - and the the DDR Museum will be open until 2:00 am in the morning. Read here what we prepare for you on this very special night of the year. by Michael Geithner (20 Aug 2018)

The Long Night of Museums on saturday August 25

History at a late hour: The DDR Museum opens its doors exclusively for visitors of the Long Night of Museums from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Every hour our colleagues from the collection ask you to guess mysterious objects. 

At 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., the "Living Room Talk" on "Treppenwitze" about the DDR with the head of research Dr. Stefan Wolle takes place place in the living room. "Love, sex and socialism" will be a topic at 11 p.m., when the curator will guide you through the current temporary exhibition in the entrance hall of the museum.

If your're lucky you will meet "Caretaker Lehmann" in the course of the evening, who is fulfilling his duties in the apartment of the museum.

Only tickets for the Long Night of Museums are valid in the DDR Museum on August 25 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
