Tasty barbecue recipes for men

On occasion of Father’s Day, today we would like to present you some delicious grill recipes out of the DDR cookbook “Was Männer gerne kochen” (German for “What men like to cook”). But I am convinced that, during a barbecue for example, you will be able to impress the female guests, as well!

Grilled meat balls

 
Ingredients


400g minced meat (half beef half pork)
2 diced onions
1 egg
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp grated rolls
1 tbsp capers
1 cucumber
4 tomatoes
Oil

 

Preparation

  • Mix minced meat, diced onions, tomato paste, grated rolls and crushed capers
  • Flavor the dough with salt and pepper and form small balls
  • Skewer balls alternating with thick tomato and cucumber slices, brush on oil and let turn brown on the grill for about 15-20 minutes. Turn from time to time.

 

 

Skewers with cheese


Ingredients


1 fillet of pork (about 300gr)
150g lean bacon
150g semi-hard cheese in one piece 
2 medium-sized onions
4 tomatoes
2 peppers
Salt, paprika powder
Oil

 

Preparation

  • Wash meat, remove skin, dry well and cut into slices
  • Stick onto skewers in alteration with cheese cubes, pepper slices, onion rings, thick tomato and thin bacon slices, brush on oil, salt lightly and sprinkle with paprika powder
  • Grill for about 15 minutes until brown and crunchy

 

 

Grilled sausages


Ingredients


4 large Frankfurters
Oil
2 slices of semi-hard cheese

 

Preparation

  • Incise sausages crosswise for about 6-8 times (don’t cut entirely!)
  • Put slices of cheese into the gaps and grill from all sides for about 8 minutes

 

 

Vegetable skewers

Ingredients


8 small tomatoes
8 small onions
4 pickled cucumbers
4 peppers
200g lean bacon
Oil

 

Preparation

  • Cut bacon into thin, cucumbers into thick slices
  • Divide peppers into four and fold
  • Brush oil lightly on the vegetables, stick onto skewers, alternating with a slice of bacon 
  • Grill for about 15 minutes, turn from time to time
